Damned If I Do.
This was going to be a bad year. Worse than a bad year, it was going to be a miserable year. A horrible year. An insert any awful synonym here year. And Naruto really wasn't looking forward to it.
In any way, shape or form.
The blond let out a sigh while leaning back against the wall, head turned to stare out the bathroom window while he sat on the ledge. The stalls nearby were all empty, which was the only reason he'd sought solitude in there.
As he'd just been thinking, this was going to be a bad year. He really wasn't sure what he'd expected after summer had ended, but it hadn't exactly been this, and now he was just pissed off and confused.
Because during the summer... Fuck, during the stupid summer, his parents had taken him away for a vacation, and who had he ended up beside? Sasuke fucking Uchiha. Of all the vacation spots on the planet, the Uchihas just fucking had to be right next door!
So he'd spent most of the summer hanging out on the beach, trying to ignore the fact that the bastard who harassed him at school was next door to him. But every time he tried to ignore him, Sasuke was always magically there. He'd appear near him, and completely ignore him instead.
And that, of course, was more annoying than anything else, and he started going out of his way to bug the Uchiha and make his presence forever known to him. Which then led to him staring intently at Sasuke as a means to annoy him. Which then led to him always staring at Sasuke.
That's when the dreams started. He was sure Sasuke somehow magically knew he was inducing them because every time Naruto turned away when the raven glanced in his direction, the fucking bastard was smirking. As if he knew that Naruto had dreamed about him.
An inappropriate kind of dream. The kind one did not have about someone they outwardly hated. Which was why he was glad when he'd left the beach house and returned to civilization and normality. Only normality had decided to evade him.
He was still having the dreams. They were never anything graphic, just him and Sasuke making out, but that was hardly the point. The annoying thing was that he didn't like Sasuke. He knew he didn't like him! But somehow he couldn't stop thinking about him!
Naruto bit at his thumbnail, right foot tapping repeatedly against the ledge while he stared out the window, trying not to think about him and Sasuke making out.
He tried to ignore the way Sasuke smirked knowingly at him every time he was around. Tried to ignore the looks he got when the raven thought he wasn't looking.
Damn him! Damn him for making me think these things!
He had half a mind to go to a doctor and check to see if Sasuke had snuck into his bungalow one night and implanted something into his brain that constantly forced him to think about him. "Think about me, Naruto. Think about me!"
Fine. He was going to turn the tables then! He would just think of all the sexy girls in school and not think about Sasuke! That would show the stupid chip in his brain.
Leaning his head back, he let his mind wander and thought about Hinata. Only Sasuke appeared beside her, leaning close to her. All right, scratch Hinata. What about Sakura? Sakura's hot.
So he thought about his best friend instead, except Sasuke appeared beside her, as well. Naruto quickly dispelled the image, ignoring the tightening in his chest while moving on to Ino, which he just gave up on when Sasuke appeared in the same image.
"Tch, I'm not jealous," he muttered to himself, biting at his thumbnail and ignoring the fact that even when he tried to think of girls, Sasuke magically weaselled his way into the images in his head.
Grunting in annoyance and slamming his head backwards into the wall a few times, Naruto jumped off the ledge and headed for the exit, shoving through the door and ducking out quickly, his coat billowing slightly behind him while he walked. He turned the corner to head for class and saw Sakura heading in his direction.
"Naruto, there you are!" she exclaimed once she saw him, beckoning for him to hurry up. "Come on, you're late!" She turned and hurried back down the corridor and Naruto sped up slightly to follow along behind her.
They rounded a corner, and Naruto looked up to find Sasuke and Ino heading towards them, walking slowly as if they didn't have anywhere to be—which, they did, they had class just like everyone else, dammit! Both of them had one arm wrapped around the other's waist, and Sasuke was sporting the ever-present smirk on his face that he always seemed to have when Naruto was around.
Naruto forced himself to look anywhere but at him, passing the two of them by and keeping his eyes locked on the back of Sakura's head. Don't turn around, don't turn around, don't turn around, he ordered himself silently.
He couldn't help it, though. He turned around, despite yelling at himself not to, and saw Sasuke glancing over his own shoulder with a smirk, his hand having travelled down to Ino's butt.
"Sasuke-kun!" Ino exclaimed, but she didn't sound very indignant about it, the way Naruto felt she should have.
He slammed on the brakes, practically staring at the offending appendage. "What the fuck?!" he demanded and, in an afterthought, hoped he hadn't said it loud enough for Sasuke to hear.
Sakura had, though, and he felt her tug lightly on his arm. He couldn't tear his eyes away from the raven's hand, even though Sasuke had turned back around so he wasn't looking at Naruto anymore. The blond just fucking wanted that hand to move!
"Come on, Naruto," Sakura insisted, tugging on his arm lightly. "Don't let him get to you."
"Asshole," Naruto muttered angrily, allowing Sakura to tug him around the corner so that said asshole was out of sight.
Naruto had known Sakura almost his entire life. She was actually the reason he'd transferred to this school the previous year and, because of that, he trusted her with virtually every secret he'd ever had. His dreams about Sasuke had been no exception. She knew about them, and kept insisting he was in love with Sasuke, but that was fucking ridiculous. Who would ever be in love with a dick like him?
"Just ignore him, Naruto," his friend insisted, reaching their classroom and stopping, her hand on the knob. "He's not worth it. You're just gonna work yourself up if you let him get to you."
"He's doing it on purpose, though. He knows that I can't stop thinking about him!"
"He can't know that, Naruto," she insisted. "You're just being paranoid. And I thought you didn't like him," she teased.
"What? I don't! We're late!" The blond pushed at the door, forcing Sakura to turn the handle, and he stormed into the classroom.
But he did notice the smirk on her face.
Why was everyone smirking at him all the time?!
Meanwhile, somewhere down the corridor, Sasuke turned to glance over his shoulder once more when Naruto's voice disappeared, and the smirk on his face slowly slid off. He shifted his hand away from Ino's ass, and started to pull away from her, but her arm was still around his waist.
"Ino," he said monotonously, "let go."
He shrugged away from her, the girl's hand sliding from around his waist, and shoved his hands in his pockets, continuing on towards his class without her.
The raven heard her snort and glanced over his shoulder, seeing her brushing off the front of her uniform. He could tell he'd upset her, but he didn't care. Her feelings had nothing to do with why he'd been walking down the corridor with her in the first place.
"Whatever," he heard the blonde mutter behind him. "Everyone knows he's gay."
Sasuke couldn't help but smirk at that. Because it was true. Everyone did know he was gay, and on top of that, it wasn't exactly a secret he'd been after a certain blond-haired fox since the rebellious teen had arrived at the school.
The only one who seemed to be resisting the idea was Naruto. Even after their summer together, when Sasuke knew the other had been fantasizing about him—you didn't stare intently at someone for an entire day if you weren't thinking about them—Naruto was still in denial.
But that was fine. Sasuke had waited this long. He could afford to wait a little bit longer.
Besides, Sasuke would make him realize how he felt, even if he had to play dirty to do it.
Sakura rubbed lightly at her temples while walking down the corridor to her locker, sidestepping other students, and pushing through crowds when they refused to move and decided it would be better to just mosey along while taking up the whole freakin' corridor.
Reaching her locker after what felt like an eternity, she sighed and entered the combination, pulling it open once it clicked, and reached inside for her math homework. She shut the locker door and leaned back against the row of them, looking over her answers while she waited for Naruto.
She was certain the blond had gone to the bathroom again. That was where he always went when he wanted to think. Well, really, he just found a ledge to perch on, but the bathroom on the second floor was leaking so no one was allowed to use it, and it meant he could be alone.
Which tended to be what he wanted most of the time nowadays. She was concerned about him, and wanted him to just accept that sometimes, things happen without your consent, but he was so adamant he didn't like Sasuke and blind to how he was actually feeling that he was just... practically self-destructing himself.
She felt a weight press against her side and looked up, expecting to find Naruto, but it was Sasuke. The raven was leaning back against the locker beside her, one hand in his pocket and the other resting up against the metallic wall. He smirked at her, and Sakura cocked an eyebrow, somewhat confused and pulled away from him slightly, her eyes returning to her math homework.
"So," Sasuke said in a low voice which she assumed was meant to make her melt into a puddle. It didn't, but she let him figure that for himself by the unimpressed look she gave him. "Are you and Naruto dating, or are you free?"
Sakura pulled away from him even more when she felt his hand shift to tuck some of her hair behind her ear. She turned to him with a scoff and shoved at him hard with one hand.
"Like you wanna know if I'm the one who's free." She snorted and rolled her eyes at him. "Get real, Sasuke."
She turned and stalked away from him, feeling ridiculously satisfied with herself because she knew she'd probably bruised his ego ever so slightly.
Which was only furthered when she heard a, "Hn, whatever," emanate from behind her.
"Seriously, Naruto," Sakura insisted with a sigh. "Just ignore Sasuke, he's not worth it."
"Yeah, I know," the blond muttered, leaning back against his locker and watching Sakura root around in her own. "So you got plans after school today?"
"I don't know yet," she replied, finally emerging her head from the depths of her locker. "I was thinking maybe of going somewhere for dinner if you wanted to come."
"Sure," he said with a grin. "Sounds like a plan."
The blond's eyes shifted to the side when he noticed a tall head of grey hair walking in their direction through the sea of students. He watched their teacher get closer and closer before Kakashi finally stopped beside them, students stepping around him to get to the cafeteria for lunch.
The older man handed Sakura her essay back, and she took it excitedly before pumping her fist.
Naruto grinned at her and gave her a one-armed hug, though he wasn't surprised. She'd always been a smart cookie, and he only ever expected her to get an A-minus as the lowest grade possible.
He looked up at Kakashi, waiting for him own, and the man handed his essay back with a sigh, Naruto turning it around and gawking.
How the hell had he failed?! He'd worked so hard on this one, and while maybe it hadn't been the best essay in the world compared to Sakura's, he'd worked really fucking hard!
The blond felt a hand fall onto his shoulder and looked up at Kakashi, who gave him a sympathetic look.
"Work harder next time," he said, his voice muffled due to the medical mask he always wore.
When their teacher disappeared back into the sea of students, Naruto scoffed and crumpled up his paper, tossing it angrily onto the ground. Sakura started to reach for him, probably to reassure him, but he took a step back and raked one hand through his hair, avoiding looking at her.
"I just need to be alone for a while," he muttered, moving past her.
"Oh, okay." He could hear the disappointment in her voice, and a part of him felt bad, but he couldn't bring himself to apologize. He just wouldn't be good company right now, so there was no point in hanging around with her.
Walking towards the end of the corridor, all the students having moved to the opposite side, he climbed up onto one of the ledges and sighed, looking out at the school grounds. Everyone was probably eating by now. Sakura was going to end up eating lunch with Ino today, he supposed. And Hinata, as well. At least she wouldn't be alone.
The blond turned his head when a shadow loomed over him, and found Sasuke standing right next to him, smirking. He held up a piece of paper, and Naruto noticed it was all crumpled up, and bore a large F on the top.
How the hell had Sasuke gotten hold of his essay?!
Right, I threw it on the ground...
"I found this," the raven informed him, smirking and pushing the sheet closer. "Looks like you could use some tutoring."
Naruto was willing to let it go, and just snap at Sasuke to mind his own business, but the raven leaned in closer, one hand against the ledge Naruto sat on, and the other running up along his inner thigh.
Naruto snapped and leapt off the ledge. "Fucking bastard!" He lunged at Sasuke, grabbing the front of the other's shirt with one hand and pulling the other back. Letting his fist fly, he cracked Sasuke in the jaw, the other stumbling and bringing one hand up to block a second blow.
The blond lifted one knee, totally ready to knee the asshole in the groin when Sasuke was yanked out of his grasp and he was pushed backwards roughly.
"You two, knock it off!" a voice boomed, Naruto feeling someone pushing hard at his chest.
He ignored the fact that it was a teacher. He ignored the fact that the man was twice his size. He just kept struggling to get past him so he could wipe that fucking smirk off Sasuke's face! The other was just standing there, looking pleased with himself, wiping at the blood that was leaking from the corner of his mouth.
Sasuke moved up behind Kakashi, smirking at Naruto, giving him a very clear "loser" expression. Naruto bristled and redoubled his efforts, Kakashi pushing him back harder, one hand on Naruto's chest before he turned to point his finger at Sasuke.
"Stop taunting him!"
Kakashi turned back in time to stop Naruto from lunging past him, grabbing the blond roughly and wrestling him backwards.
"Sasuke, get out of here," he snapped at the other student, the raven just shrugging and walking away.
Naruto continued to struggle almost the entire time Sasuke retreated. Once he turned a corner, he let up a little bit, but continued to glare angrily in the raven's direction.
"Naruto," Kakashi said sternly, pushing the blond back slightly so that he was forced to look up into his teacher's face. "I've told you countless times since you got here last year to stop letting him rile you up. I'm not going to keep letting you off with warnings. The next time I see you throw a punch at Sasuke, I'm going to have you suspended."
"What?!" Naruto exploded. "But he always starts it!"
"I don't care who starts it, you always finish it." He glowered down at him. "Get to lunch."
The blond felt his defences rising but forced himself not to say anything. He just straightened out his jacket and stormed down the corridor in the same direction as Sasuke. With any luck, the other would be lingering and Naruto would be able to finish what he'd started, this time without Kakashi interrupting.
"Okay, you've been a grumpy mcgrumpypants all day," Sakura informed Naruto, while heading towards the locker. "So I'm thinking we go and get some food and..." she trailed off with a grin.
"And what?" Naruto asked, stopping beside her so she could grab what she needed before they headed out to eat.
"I have something that'll cheer you up," she promised, opening her locker and pulling out a small envelope before shutting it once more. "I figure we can go after dinner."
She opened it and showed it to him, the blond leaning forward so he could read what it said.
"Hinata's having a party tonight."
"Sweet!" The blond cheered loudly, then scooped up Sakura into a hug, spinning her in circles happily while she sputtered out a laugh, hugging him back tightly. "That's just what I needed! Thanks, Sakura!"
"Don't thank me, I didn't do anything," she insisted, still laughing when he finally put her down.
"Come on! We better get going or we won't have time for dinner!"
Grabbing her hand, Naruto wrenched her forward excitedly, hurrying down the corridor and dragging a laughing Sakura along. He turned to grin at her, and noticed a piece of paper lying on the floor in front of her locker. Figuring whatever it was probably wasn't important, he ignored it and rounded the corner quickly, still pulling Sakura along by the hand.
It was such a pity that Sasuke would have to wait another seventeen hours before he'd be able to torture Naruto again. Well, torture, make him see the light, convert him, whichever.
Walking past his locker, hands shoved deep in his pocket, the raven stopped when he noticed a piece of paper lying on the floor in front of Naruto and Sakura's lockers. Looking around briefly, he picked it up and realized it was an invitation to a party.
"Party?" he muttered to himself.
If this was in front of Naruto's locker, that meant chances were he was going to be at said party. Which meant Sasuke wouldn't have to wait seventeen hours to see him again.
Smirking, the raven folded the note up and stuck it in his front pocket, letting out a thoughtful "Hn," while walking contently down the corridor.
Kiba couldn't help the grin plastered to his face while he sat in Hinata's living room, listening to his friends make fools of themselves and just generally having a good time. He was mostly excited because he happened to be sitting in the living room of the girl he'd had a crush on since freshman year.
Sure "crush" was such a silly term, almost childish, but it was true. Naruto always teased him and said it was more like "puppy love" but he just ignored the moron because, well, really, the blond had a boner for Sasuke and just refused to admit it to himself.
Playing with the edge of the cup he held in his hand, and smiling across the room at Hinata, even though she wasn't looking at him, he turned his head when a weight fell down beside him on the couch. He nodded politely to Sasuke—who had fucking shown up without an invitation—and then moved over a little to give him some more room.
The brunet's eyes shifted to the side to regard Sasuke when the Uchiha shifted with him, moving closer to him. Clearing his throat, Kiba glanced away and shifted over some more, but again, Sasuke just followed, pressing his thigh against the brunet's.
Okay, enough is enough, Kiba thought, putting his drink down on the table and standing up with a cough, moving away from the couch to stand somewhere else. Somewhere far, far away from Sasuke and his weirdness.
When he glanced over at the raven, he just smirked at him before standing and walking away. Kiba snorted and turned to talk to Naruto, since the blond was sitting in an armchair beside Sakura, but wasn't actively engaging in conversation with anyone.
"What's up, blondie?" He leaned against the armrest and grinned down at him. "Having fun?"
"Sure?" Naruto replied with a snort. "I guess." He turned to look down at Sakura briefly, then looked back up at Kiba. "You?"
"I'd be happier without princess mcassholepants here but, what can you do?" He shrugged. "How did he even find out, anyway?"
Kiba frowned when he saw Naruto's face stiffen, as if he were preparing to get punched. Frowning, the brunet turned around to see what he was looking at, and all but exploded.
"Oh hell no!" he shouted loudly before storming across the room where Sasuke was, one arm wrapped around Hinata's shoulders and his face much too close to the girl's for Kiba's comfort.
He reached them and grabbed Hinata by the arm, pulling her from the couch and stomping across the living room with her, still holding onto her.
Kiba ignored her, and ignored the angry look on Naruto's face while he passed him by, the blond looking as if he wanted to maim Sasuke. Well, he'd have to get in line because Kiba would fucking murder him first!
Dragging Hinata all the way to the kitchen, he stopped once they entered it and did a quick once over, making sure she was all right.
"Are you okay?!" he demanded lamely, smoothing back her hair and resisting the urge to pat her down so he could rid her body of any Sasuke-germs.
"O-of course I'm all right." Hinata took a step back. "We weren't d-doing anything, Kiba."
"Huh? What?" Kiba blinked. Oh shit... Way to be smooth... "Oh, I know, he just... it looked like he was hurting your arm."
Hinata smiled at him. "You hurt it more when you wrenched me off the couch."
"I did?!" The brunet resisted the urge to flail. "I'm so sorry!"
Hinata laughed, shaking her head and inching forward slightly. "It's okay. I think it was sweet that you were worried." She leaned up to kiss his cheek, and smiled. "Thank you."
Kiba wasn't sure the words that left his mouth were English, but Hinata didn't seem to mind. She just laughed and took his hand, pulling him back out into the living room.
To say Naruto's entire fucking night had been ruined by Sasuke's arrival had been an understatement. It hadn't gone unnoticed that Sasuke had flirted—or tried to—with Kiba, and it certainly hadn't gone unnoticed that he'd attempted the same with Hinata.
Naruto was finding it hard to forget about him when the asshole kept weaselling his way into his social life by any means necessary. And his sour mood was obvious, because Sakura ended up pulling him onto the couch after about an hour of them being there and forced him to talk to her.
They didn't really discuss anything of importance, but after a while, Naruto started to relax, and when Kiba and Hinata came to join them, he felt a lot better, and was actually enjoying himself.
And of course, because he was having a good time, Sasuke had to fucking up and ruin it! Like he always did!
Naruto had just finished telling the others a story, the four of them laughing about it, when unwillingly, his eyes shifted across the room in search of Sasuke. Once they found him, he wished they hadn't, because his mood soured instantly.
Sasuke was across the room with Sai, now, the Uchiha leaning in close to the other, almost whispering in his ear with how fucking close he was standing, and one hand on his shoulder. Sai looked a little embarrassed, as if Sasuke were telling him things he would like to be doing to him in a bedroom right now.
Naruto snapped. He couldn't help it. He leapt off the couch and barrelled across the room, ignoring Sakura's shout for him to not let it bother him. He couldn't stop it from bothering him! Every time Sasuke got all gaga over someone, he snapped. It was like instinct.
Reaching the two in a matter of seconds, he shoved Sai away roughly, the other taking the hint and quickly backing off, then turned on Sasuke and shoved him even harder into the wall.
"What the fuck are you doing?!" he shouted right in the raven's face, shoving him again before just grabbing the front of his shirt and shaking him slightly. "Do you have to flirt with everyone?!"
The second the words left his mouth, he knew what was coming. And just as expected, that stupid fucking smirk slowly made its way across Sasuke's face.
"What?" Sasuke asked, taking a step forward. Naruto shifted back a step awkwardly. "Are you jealous?" the raven breathed, inching even closer.
The blond stumbled back quickly, releasing Sasuke's shirt and trying to put some distance between himself and the other teen. "N-no!" he insisted.
Feeling his hackles rising, he just flipped Sasuke off and turned away from him, shouting at Sakura that he was leaving before slamming out the front door angrily.
Naruto hadn't had a good night. He'd tried really hard to just ignore what had happened at the party, and go home and sleep, but that hadn't worked. So he'd tried to do homework, which had ended up with him writing "die Sasuke, die!" all over his notebook.
His mood hadn't improved much the next morning, and even now, though his drive to school had been relatively retard-free with no one trying to run him over, he was still in a bad mood. Mostly because he was trying to figure out what Sasuke had been hoping to accomplish the night before.
It was a known fact Kiba loved Hinata, and that Hinata had a huge crush on Kiba, so trying to flirt with them—while still angering—had been retarded and pointless. As for Sai, well, the guy was a fucking bicycle. If it had a hole, he would fuck it, so that was just an easy lay.
Still, seeing Sasuke flirting will all those people right in front of him had been so angering and jealousy-inducing.
Had that been the point? Naruto realized, frowning while heading for his locker. Did he want me to be jealo—
"Stop it, Sasuke!"
Naruto looked up when he heard Sakura speak, and froze.
Sasuke was leaning against the wall right in front of his best friend, one arm wrapped around her waist and a smirk on his face. Slowly, dark eyes lifted until they locked with Naruto's, the blond feeling anger beginning to bubble in his chest.
Sakura turned abruptly when she noticed where Sasuke was looking and her face fell. "Naruto, this isn't—"
The blond just threw his arms in the air in defeat and stomped forward, grabbing Sasuke by the front of his uniform and slamming him back against the wall. He wasn't mad at Sakura, he'd seen the way she'd been pushing at him. This was all Sasuke's doing, and quite frankly, he was sick of it. Enough was enough.
He saw Sakura inching away out of the corner of his eye, but he ignored her. He just shoved Sasuke roughly against the wall.
"I don't get what it is you want from me! Why are you doing this?! Are you just trying to fuck with my head, or like..." He trailed off, breathing hard, and rubbed at his face, turning to leave before deciding he wasn't done and looking back at Sasuke, shoving him again.
"This isn't funny! This isn't a fucking game! Just tell me what you want from me!"
Sasuke was smirking at him the entire time he was speaking, which was angering enough in and of itself, but when he leaned closer and reached up to run his fingers lightly along Naruto's arms, the blond leaned back and shoved him away again.
"Stop being such a fucking asshole!" he snapped, then turned and stormed off.
Though Naruto was pleased to find that Sasuke wasn't hanging around various people for the next few days, it still wasn't making things any easier for him inside his head. Because really, why had Sasuke stopped doing that after he'd confronted him?
And why did it make Naruto happy?
He didn't understand why everything Sasuke did affected him the way it did. Why he got pissed off when the raven groped a girl's ass, and why he got happy when he shoved random girls off him and told them he wasn't interested.
And he certainly didn't understand why he kept thinking about him all the time. Why he kept having fucking dreams about him. Because no matter what Sakura said, he was not in love with Sasuke Uchiha. No fucking way.
That would be emotional suicide.
Though it didn't stop her from trying to force him to see how he felt, which was proven by the fact that whenever Sasuke was around, Sakura went out of her way to make Naruto's life completely miserable!
Like one time, when they were heading to class together, chatting, and Sasuke was heading towards them from the other end of the corridor reading a book, just when they'd been about to pass each other, Sakura had fucking pushed him right into Sasuke!
And Sasuke had been more than happy to receive him, too! Fucker had even practically tossed his book away so he could wrap his arms around Naruto's middle, pulling him closer. The blond had just stuttered something incomprehensible before pulling free from the raven and hurrying after Sakura, glancing nervously over his shoulder.
He hadn't known how to react! He never did!
And things just got worse from there! Like another time when Naruto and Sasuke had been about to have another angry talk in front of their lockers—and Naruto would have won this one, too!—and Sakura had opened her locker much harder than was necessary, and had ended up sending Naruto flying into Sasuke.
So not only had he gotten grabbed by the raven again, that annoyingly familiar smirk on his face, but he also had a fucking sore head from where the locker had hit him! He was lucky he hadn't just passed out in Sasuke's arms.
Now that would have sucked.
So, after a while of that, Naruto had decided—again—that enough was enough. When Sasuke had arrived at school, the blond had walked up to him, grabbed his hand, and had pulled him through the virtually deserted corridors.
He rounded a corner, still clutching the raven's hand, then pressed his back against the wall, letting Sasuke go. The raven just followed through with inertia, rounding the corner with him, and then leaned forward, one arm braced against the wall.
"So have you finally come to terms with things, or am I going to have to revert to being an asshole to get any kind of attention from you?" Sasuke asked with his ever-famous smirk.
Naruto frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"You can't tell me you still don't know." Sasuke chuckled. "I was never interested in any of those people you saw me with. They were just the only way to get you to pay attention to me."
The blond stared at him, dumbfounded. "Okay, so, wait... you were just doing it to get me jealous?"
"I had help," Sasuke insisted, still smirking. "Sakura's not stupid, she knew how you felt, but you were just so adamant that you didn't like me. So we came up with a plan. My side was using other people to get to you, and her plan was to... well, basically, push us together."
So... wait... Naruto frowned. This wasn't a game? This was all done... it was done because he wouldn't admit how he felt?
"I only did it to make you jealous." Sasuke smirked. "Did it work?"
Naruto was in shock. "Yeah," he replied honestly. "Yeah, it really did."
"Well good." Sasuke leaned forward, running the tip of his nose lightly along Naruto's. "That's all that matters, then."
Before Naruto could say anything else, Sasuke's lips were on his. And that was pretty much all it took for him. After months of fantasizing about doing this, he finally just gave in and buried his hands in the raven's hair, pulling him closer, and kissed him back.
Kakashi grinned to himself behind his mask while he walked leisurely down the corridor. He had one of his files open, but he wasn't actually looking at anything in it. He was reading one of his favourite porn novels, using the file as a cover so that nobody would be able to tell he was reading porn.
The older man quickly closed the file—and his book—when he heard his name and looked up, seeing Sakura bouncing towards him excitedly. He was about to ask her why she was so happy when she pointed towards the end of the corridor, where Sasuke and Naruto were.
Kakashi didn't need to look closer to know what they were doing, even from this distance.
A smile graced his features and he let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. "Finally."
"Yeah!" Sakura held out her hand and chuckling some more, Kakashi gave her a high-five.
"Ah, youth," he mused, continuing down the corridor and opening his book once more, walking right past the two making out in the corridor.
If it had taken them any longer, Kakashi would've locked them in a classroom overnight. Thankfully, he didn't have to resort to such measures. Which he was sure Naruto wouldn't have appreciated because Sasuke probably would have raped him.
"Ah, youth," the teacher repeated with a smile.
